CAITHNESS GLASS HISTORY
Since 1961 Caithness Glass has established a
proud traditional fine glass making. At their original site in the far
north of Scotland they initially produced coloured vases and bowls in
contemporary, popular styles. The following year saw the introduction
of the first Caithness Glass limited edition paperweights. The ‘Planet
Set’, designed by Colin Terris. These ground breaking abstract creations
and the others that followed succeeded in thrusting Caithness Glass to
the forefront of modern paperweight design. Today Caithness maintain their
position as a world leader in design and production of collectable glass
paperweights and gifts. Each and every piece is a unique work of art designed
by their talented designers and individually hand crafted by their skilled
makers in the Crieff factory.
